Web 2.0

For those who are concerned with keeping School and Home web sites "educationally safe" here is some information to take with you.

Keeping Safe Using Web 2.0

1. Build a parent-education program about Internet safety and content filtering in the home.

2. Ensure that you and other teachers understand that Web resources used inside the district are filtered, and alert students to use caution when recommending websites for them to use outsid the classroom.

3. Create a list of highly effective, district supported Web 2.0 resources (www.uen.org or ethemes.org) that are aligned to the content so you are less likely to pick, at random, unknown resources.

4. Personally stay abreast of news in the rapidly changing and expanding Web 2.0 world.
